Chi Reflexology

East meets West with a truly unique approach…

Chi reflexology, now known as Chi Medics, is a unique wholistic energy therapy that’s based on Chinese Philosophy and uses a combination of Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM), Acu-points and Meridians with foot and body therapy in an easy and effective way. Chinese Medicine is an ancient and natural form of healing that recognizes the inseparable relationship of Body, Mind, Spirit and Nature.

Chi is vital energy and is the western word for Chinese Qi, or Japanese Ki or the Sanskrit Prana. They can all be cultivated to promote health, longevity, intelligence, wisdom, and happiness.

The history of Chi Medics began with Moss Arnold, whose study of Chinese History and Philosophy at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia in the early 1970s, combined with studying natural therapies in the 1980s and 90s helped him develop this amazing therapy.

He started his natural therapies practice in the Blue Mountains in Australia, where he began his Chi Medics journey. He used his logic, knowledge and intuition to learn to work through the feet and with the body to enhance and improve his skills and understanding for the benefit of his clients.

Chi is our vital life force;

It’s the energy that flows through us and everything in creation. Chi is the energy current that provides us with circulation, nutrients, and minerals that we need to be whole, our life force is critical to our well-being. Life force energy enables us to experience life to its fullest, without it our bodies can’t survive. When life force energy is scarce, we feel ungrounded, lethargic, depressed, and can struggle with moving through life.

Putting too much strain on your body through physical exercise, stress and negative emotions can also amount to having too much chi causing blockages within our body. These blockages prevent chi energy from flowing freely around us, meaning that chi is unable to nourish all areas.

Yin-Yang

The yin-yang concept is the philosophical framework of Chinese medicine. The principles of yin and yang theory are that all things exist as inseparable and contradictory opposites.

In the yin–yang model, yin represents feminine forces, such as the moon, water, darkness, passivity, intuition, softness and contraction while yang represents masculine forces, such as the sun, fire, light, activity, rational thought, hardness, expansion, and assertiveness. Two halves that mutually form the wholeness of chi. The mixing of the two energies makes life possible, you can’t have one without the other.

As with yin-yang, chi needs to balance to maintain good health. Balance is more of a concept of avoiding extremes and maintaining moderation in everything.

Chi Reflexology

Whilst we are alive, we are in a constant state of varying degrees of imbalance. Imbalance is movement, which we need. However, if there is an extreme or consistent imbalance of chi, illness can arise, with varying symptoms according to the type of chi, and whether it is deficient or in excess. Everything in the entire universe is made up of Chi…it’s the invisible source of life energy. Your Chi provides the energy for important bodily functions like your digestion, metabolism, and overall strength.
